A change of security contractor comes into effect this weekend at Canberra airport, despite the continued protest rallies of workers.

MSS Security takes over from Saturday.

Some security staff will lose their jobs, while others will lose their existing pay and conditions, says the United Workers Union’s Lyndal Ryan.

She warns that there could be gaps in security staff from this weekend and says she has repeatedly called for airport management to step in and address the issue.
