Motorcyclist’s death second fatality in a week

A 22-year-old female motorcyclist died in hospital on Friday morning following a collision with a bus on Tuesday.

At about 8am on Tuesday police and emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a bus and motorcycle at the intersection of the Barton Highway and Gold Creek Road, Nicholls.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital in a critical condition. She died on Friday morning.

She is the second road fatality for 2025. On Tuesday night a 70-year-old cyclist died following collision with a car on Northbourne Avenue.
