A Jetstar aircraft has been taken out of service after colliding with a ground vehicle at Sydney Airport early on Monday morning.
Staff were preparing aircraft for the first flights of the day when a ute, driven by an employee of the airport’s security contractor, collided with the jet as it was being towed on to the tarmac.
No passengers were aboard the plane.
Its right engine smashed into the ute’s windscreen, which buckled under the weight.
The aircraft was taken out of service.
