UPDATE, MONDAY PM: Police report that a 31-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the alleged incidents near Athllon Drive in Mawson on Saturday.

A man is alleged to have grabbed a woman running southbound adjacent to Athllon Drive, Mawson, on Saturday afternoon.

At about 3.10pm the woman ran past the man walking in the opposite direction when, police say, the man grabbed her and attempted to pick her up and carry her away.

Following a short scuffle, the man dropped the woman and ran off.

Another woman has similarly claimed that at about 2.45pm she was walking her dog northbound on the path adjacent to Athllon Drive, Mawson, when a man attempted to grab her before walking away.

Police believe both incidents involve the same offender.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 170cm (5’7”) tall, with dark hair. He was wearing a black puffer jacket, black shoes and a black beanie at the time of the incident.
