‘Armed shopper’ incident: no offences, say police

UPDATE: FRIDAY, 10am– Police on Friday morning said they had spoken with the man alleged to have produced a knife after being stopped by a security guard on suspicion of theft at the Woden shopping centre on Monday, and “are satisfied that no offences were committed during this incident”. 

A man allegedly produced a knife after being stopped by a security guard on suspicion of theft at the Woden shopping centre on Monday.

Police allege the man put the knife into a duffle bag and left in the direction of the Woden bus interchange.  

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, solid build with light-coloured hair and wearing a light-coloured business shirt, black tracksuit pants with white strips and carrying a dark duffle bag.
