Police charge alleged holiday burglar

Police have charged a man they believe responsible for a string of burglaries in the Gungahlin area over the Christmas and New Year period. 

Police recovered more than 100 items believed to have been stolen during a search of an address in Gungahlin on January 2.

And on Tuesday they turned up in Coombs and arrested a 22-year-old man believed to be responsible for the burglaries.

They have charged him with taking a motor vehicle without consent, driving a stolen motor vehicle, obtaining property by deception and unlawfully possessing stolen property.
