Naked woman escapes alleged confinement

A screaming, naked woman was found running up Fairweather Circuit, Lyneham, by a police patrol on Monday evening.

She was taken into the police vehicle, where she alleged she’d been confined to a nearby residence by a man for some days.

She also alleged that during this period, the man had committed a number of assaults and sexual assaults against her, causing numerous injuries.

A 44-year-old Lyneham man was arrested at his home a short time later.

Police have charged him with four offences – forcible confinement, sexual intercourse without consent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and failing to appear – with the prospect of more charges to come.
