A motorcyclist is dead following a two-vehicle collision on Southern Cross Drive, Holt, on Tuesday evening. 

The collision involved a truck travelling eastbound and a motorcycle travelling westbound, approaching the intersection with Beaurepaire Crescent.

Emergency services treated the motorcycle rider at the scene before they were taken to hospital in a critical condition, where they died shortly afterwards.

Police say the driver of the truck is assisting them with their enquiries.

This is the sixth fatality on ACT roads in 2024.
