Drunk, suspended P-plater caught speeding in Amaroo

Booked… police caught a suspended P-plater doing 101km/h in a 60 zone.

A suspended 20-year-old P-plate driver will face court next month after being caught speeding and drink driving in Amaroo on Thursday morning.

Police were patrolling Horse Park Drive early in the morning when they clocked a red Mazda 2 travelling at 101km/h in a 60km/h zone.

The woman was taken to Gungahlin Police Station where she recorded a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.140.

She was was issued an Immediate Suspension Notice, suspending her ACT drivers licence for 90 days, and she an Infringement Notice for $700 and eight demerit points – due to the double demerit period.

She was also served a Court Attendance Notice to appear in the ACT Magistrate’s Court on two charges of drink driving and driving while suspended by law.
