“Pulling a Swifty” seems to have taken on a new meaning recently; be prepared for a price shock if you’re flying out of Canberra to Sydney or Melbourne anytime soon.

Hotels and airlines are being accused of cashing in on American singer Taylor Swift’s upcoming Australian leg of her Eras tour.

And anyone lucky enough to have a ticket to one of Swift’s Sydney or Melbourne shows might be in for a rude shock.

An investigation by News Corp suggests the cost of a flight with Virgin has more than doubled and Jetstar almost quadrupled on select economy ticket prices between Brisbane and Sydney ahead of the first concert on February 23

Major hotels in Sydney are reported to have almost doubled some of their regular room prices, while some holiday rental apartments are going for $1800 a night.

Taylor Swift or not, it appears travellers are still going to be hit with massive airfare prices until the singer heads off.
