A POLICE car was hit at an estimated 80-100km/h, with officers inside, while waiting for a tow truck to arrive for a separate collision.
About 6.15am on September 16, officers responded to a single vehicle collision with a kangaroo on the Majura Parkway.

The crashed vehicle was stationary on the southbound side of the road, and could not be moved, so a tow truck was called.
About 6.55am, the two responding police officers were seated inside their own, stationary vehicle, with emergency lights flashing to stop traffic from passing, while they waited for the tow truck.
The police vehicle was struck from behind by a white Ford Ranger, estimated to be travelling between 80-100m/h at the time of impact.
Both members were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Police say the collision is a reminder to Canberrans to slow down around emergency vehicles, with a penalty of a $289 fine and two demerit points for those who fail to do so.
