CANBERRANS are being invited to learn more about gardening in small spaces, with a giveaway of plants and flowers in Braddon.

From 11.30am on Wednesday, the City Renewal Authority and Canberra Environment Centre will host the giveaway of more than 1000 plants on the corner of Mort and Eloura Streets.

The giveaway is being held to provide an opportunity for locals who live in townhouses or apartments to get advice on how to turn balconies and courtyards into gardens.

Advice is set to cover everything from watering, fertilising, mulching, worm farms, and where to plant for best results in terms of sunlight and shade.

It provides locals with a chance to take some nature home with them, but attendees are also welcome to chat with City Renewal Authority members about the design and development projects underway in the city centre and Braddon.
