P-plater clocked at 157 clicks on highway

A PROVISIONAL driver, not displaying P-plates, was booked on Saturday evening on the Monaro Highway, Symonston, for driving at 157km/h in a 100km/h zone.

The 19-year-old was issued an Immediate Suspension Notice, which suspends her right to drive in the ACT for 90 days. She was also fined $1841 and an additional $213 for not displaying P-plates and accrued six demerit points.

She was one of four P-platers caught speeding by police over the weekend.

The other three were driving in convoy along Parks Way, Acton, on Saturday night. One, a Ford Ranger, was towing another vehicle on a car trailer.

Police detected all three driving at 128km/h along the 90km/h zone.

They have each been fined $700 and accrued four demerit points, which will suspend their licences for 90 days.
