FROM October 1, the bushfire season begins in the ACT.

The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) will enact fire danger rating signs, mandatory fire permits and declare total fire bans on days of severe fire danger.

Chief Officer Rohan Scott says October 1 is a great time to revisit an emergency survival plan.

“Have a discussion with your household about what you will do in a bushfire emergency,” he says.
