Man caught twice in two hours for drink driving

POLICE caught a 38-year-old man drink driving twice early on Sunday morning.

Just after midnight the man was stopped by police while driving on Geelong Street, Fyshwick.

He returned a positive reading for alcohol and was later charged with high-range drink driving. He was issued with an immediate suspension notice and was released from custody to face court in 2024.

About 2.15 am this morning, the same driver and vehicle was seen to ignore a red light on Canberra Avenue, Fyshwick, and the driver was again stopped by police.

He was arrested for a second time and returned a breath-alcohol reading of 0.216

He was charged with a second count of high-range drink driving, driving while suspended and entering an intersection contrary to a traffic signal.
