Man arrested for 19 commercial burglaries

A 19-year-old Kaleen man has been charged in relation to 19 commercial burglaries earlier this year.

In January, police responded to a series of commercial burglaries in the Gungahlin region.

Due to the similarities of the incidents, police believed the burglaries were linked.

Further enquiries also identified three additional burglaries in Sutton, Bywong and Gundaroo in NSW, also believed to be linked.

An investigation identified the 19-year-old as a suspect, he was arrested on Wednesday and is the fourth person charged in relation to the burglaries.

He faces a total of 32 charges, 19 counts of joint commission burglary, 12 counts of joint commission theft and one charge of driving a stolen motor vehicle.

Further charges are expected in relation to the NSW burglaries, while three male juvenile offenders are also before court facing the same range of charges.
