AN L-plate motorcyclist from Queanbeyan has been booked for travelling at almost 170km/h on the Majura Parkway.
About 6.40pm on Sunday police detected the 20-year-old man riding at 167km/h in the signposted 100km/h zone.
He was stopped and and issued with an immediate suspension notice, suspending his right to drive in the ACT for 90 days.
His motorcycle, a Yamaha R7, was also seized due to exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 45km/h.
The man will face charges and possibly licence disqualification, which would suspend his right to drive anywhere in Australia.
Double demerits start in the ACT on Friday.
