UPDATE, Sunday 3pm: The wanted man ACT police were looking for was located and arrested on Sunday afternoon in NSW. 

PUBLIC help is being sought to catch wanted man, Nec Gorman, 25, after he escaped custody at the ACT Supreme Court.

Nec escaped custody at 4pm on Monday, and was last seen on foot running in the direction of The Canberra Theatre.

Police have described Nec as being of Caucasian appearance, with a slim build and short dark hair.

He is wearing a grey polo shirt, grey jumper, grey tracksuit pants, socks and thongs.

Members of the public are urged not to approach Nec.

Any information on his whereabouts should be reported to 131 444.
