Rocking for Reconciliation at Stage 88

Rock for Reconciliation is a free First Nations-led healing concert founded by senior Ngunnawal elder Aunty Violet Sheridan, featuring music duo Electric Fields, Emily Wurramara, Jem Cassar-Daley and Wallabindi. Stage 88, Commonwealth Park, November 29.

Woden’s World, a major inclusive arts event for the International Day of People with Disability, gathers 12 community arts groups to create performances and a global “sculpture court”. Woden Town Square, December 3.

Rebus Theatre hosts its celebration for the International Day of People with Disability, featuring performances, workshops and hands-on creative experiences for all ages. Gorman Arts Centre, December 3.

  • Broadway’s Tricia Paoluccio stars as Dolly Parton in Here You Come Again, a joyful musical featuring classics like Jolene and 9 to 5. Canberra Theatre, November 27.
  • The provocative interactive comedy GOD invites audiences to decide its ending as it continues its season. The Mill Theatre, Until December 18.
  • The Queer Variety Show, I-Day Eve, curated by burlesque performer and wheelchair user Temerity Outré, brings a mix of acts to celebrate pride and disability culture. Smith’s Alternative, December 2.

  • Illuminate ’25 is the 12th annual exhibition by the Friends of the Australian National Botanic Gardens Photographic Group. Running at the Gardens, until December 14.
  • Four glass artists – Ngaio Fitzpatrick, Peter Nilsson, NOT and Luna Ryan – will exhibit their work in Bridges, exploring connection and form. Humble House, until December 24.
  • Annie Franklin’s paintings from Familiar Fragments, created with poet Anita Patel, will be shown and available for acquisition at Gorman Arts Centre main hall, November 29.

  • Phoenix Collective performs At the Grave of Beethoven, pairing Karen Tanaka with Janáček’s Kreutzer Sonata and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 3. All Saints, Ainslie, November 28.
  • Flamenco and jazz meet in an electrifying collaboration between Grammy winner Jorge Pardo and Australian virtuoso Paco Lara. Smith’s Alternative, November 28.
  • The Austrian Harmonie Choir rings in Christmas with Singen, featuring Austrian and Australian carols, festive hampers and a visit from Santa. Harmonie German Club, 2pm November 30.
  • Canberra Community Chorale presents Dvořák’s Mass in D Major alongside carols by Stopford and Deborah Cheetham Fraillon. Wesley Uniting Church, November 30.
  • The Gathering brings First Nations composers together for three days of performances, workshops and cultural exchange led by Ensemble Offspring. ANU School of Music, November 27-29.
  • Rhythm Syndicate brings Broadway, film favourites and Christmas music to the Wesley Lunchtime Concert series. Wesley Church, December 3.
  • The Canberra Mandolin Orchestra and Canberra Recorder Orchestra reunite, featuring Year 12 soloist Benji Moss performing Vivaldi’s Lute Concerto arranged for mandolin. All Saints Ainslie, December 6.
