Snow Concert Hall has announced a 2026 season packed with world-class performers, from The King’s Singers and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra to pianists Piers Lane and the Dutch duo Lucas and Arthur Jussen.

Blending vocal stardom, chamber-music intimacy and orchestral power, the new season looks like yet another coup for artistic director Ana de la Vega.

Audiences can expect favourite works by Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart and Mendelssohn, alongside Chopin’s poetic piano music as well as the edgier sounds of modern innovators Jacob Collier, Laura Mvula and James Blake, making it a season where classic meets contemporary.

“We aim to be a centre of musical excellence, where world-class artistry meets a meaningful and inspiring audience experience,” de la Vega says.

The season opens in March with Britain’s vocal ensemble The King’s Singers, who will take listeners from Renaissance choral gems to South African rhythms, English minimalism and pop covers of The Beatles, Billy Joel, Randy Newman and The Beach Boys.

In May, two of Australia’s brightest opera names – Jane Ede (soprano) and Helen Sherman (mezzo-soprano) – step into the spotlight for an opera gala, while chamber music returns in August with the Sitkovetsky Piano Trio, formed at the Yehudi Menuhin School. That program will feature Beethoven’s Ghost Trio, Shostakovich’s Trio No. 2, and a rediscovered jewel by French composer Cécile Chaminade.

Dutch piano duo, brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen, follow with a recital of Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schubert and Stravinsky, showing the rapport that has made them international favourites.

In a highlight, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Benjamin Northey, makes its long-awaited Canberra return with a program themed around dance, from classical ballet to contemporary rhythms.

Next year’s season ends in October with a return solo recital by Australian pianist Piers Lane, whose performance of Chopin’s Nocturnes will bring the year to a poetic close.
