Car stolen, neighbour whacked in Conder home invasion

Three people armed with weapons are reported to have invaded a home and assaulted a neighbour with a baseball bat in Conder late on Wednesday night.

A man and a child were at the Templestowe Avenue home and police allege the assailants threatened the occupants and stole keys to a blue Holden Commodore with ACT registration YLO69S.

A neighbour came to assist and was hit with a baseball bat.

The group fled the scene in the stolen Commodore and a white Holden Barina with ACT registration YKP37E.

Both vehicles were seen by police driving erratically and the Commodore was found in Coombs later that evening.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the home invasion, or anyone who may have seen or has dash cam footage of the Barina or Commodore driving erratically in Canberra’s south to call 1800 333 000, or via the  Crime Stoppers ACT website
