A 32-year-old Macgregor man is facing the ACT Magistrates Court charged with the abuse of a 13-year-old girl at his home earlier this week.

Police further alleged the man shared child exploitation material with the victim.

On Thursday evening police searched the man’s residence and located what they describe as child exploitation material on the man’s phone.

The man has been charged with grooming a young person, sexual intercourse with a child under 16 years and possessing child exploitation material.

Police say the investigation is continuing and additional charges may be laid.
