Man extradited from SA on family violence charges

A 25-year-old Canberra man has been extradited from SA to face multiple family violence charges.

Police allege the man strangled and threatened to kill a woman, his ex-partner, at a residence in Forde on April 2.

He has been charged with five offences – two counts of aggravated common assault (family violence), and single counts of aggravated threat to kill, choke/suffocate/strangle another person, and aggravated property damage.  

He was arrested in Adelaide on April 30.
