Snapper ANDREW CAMPBELL spotted workmen replacing signage at the former Calvary Public Hospital in Bruce on Thursday night, a sign that the ACT government’s takeover and ownership of the former privately run public hospital is complete.

The government controversially acquired the better-performing northside hospital last year in the face of strong community, political and Catholic opposition.

It is now called North Canberra Hospital and the signs were changed at the entrances to the hospital on Haydon Drive.

An official told Campbell that the signs weren’t being replaced in the dead of night, but the change was delayed due to “unforeseen circumstances” in the afternoon.
