UPDATED, Tuesday, December 20.
THREE people were taken to hospital following a car accident on Bungendore Road between Matthews Lane and the sewage treatment plant, which closed lanes in both directions, just after 2pm yesterday (December 19).

The three people – two women and a man – are in a stable condition.
Bungendore Rural Fire Service confirmed it was a head-on collision. Firefighters worked for more than an hour to free the three trapped in the smashed vehicles – a white ute and a blue Land Cruiser. The rescue helicopter was called to the scene, but was not needed to transport anyone.
Traffic was turned away at Matthews Lane and the Gibraltar Street/Bungendore Road roundabout, until the roads reopened at 8.45pm.
