After an absence of 13 years, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra will return to Canberra for a one-night performance at Snow Concert Hall on September 25.

Regarded by many as Australia’s leading orchestra, the ensemble will be conducted by Benjamin Northey in a program inspired by dance, ranging from the Hungarian folk rhythms of Zoltán Kodály’s Dances of Galánta and Debussy’s Dances for Harp and String Orchestra to Holly Harrison’s contemporary work Hi-Vis and Stravinsky’s ballet score The Firebird.

The concert will also provide the setting for the launch of Snow Concert Hall’s 2027 season, giving audiences a first look at the artists and performances planned for next year.
