A teenager has been charged and another will be summonsed after a group of youths allegedly fought with knives in the city.
About 7pm on Saturday, police received multiple reports of a group of youths fighting on City Walk, where a knife was allegedly brandished.
Police attended a short time later and saw two girls and two boys getting into a vehicle, with one of the youths bleeding. The vehicle was stopped and searched.
During the search, police say they located two knives in one backpack, and cannabis, clip-seal bags and scales in another.
CCTV from the area allegedly shows one of the youths, a 16-year-old boy, carrying one of the knives during the incident. He was arrested and charged with possessing an offensive weapon with intent, possessing a prohibited weapon and committing an act to cause public alarm.
A second 16-year-old boy was also arrested and will be summonsed to face court at a later date for drug-related offences.
The incident follows another incident in Civic on March 27, where teenagers allegedly armed with knives were involved in a confrontation at the Canberra Centre.
Anyone who witnessed the latest incident is urged to contact police via the Crime Stoppers ACT website or on 1800 333000.
