Police are seeking a man who allegedly tried to steal an iPad during a Facebook Marketplace transaction in Mawson last month.

Police say the man arranged to meet the seller on Enderby Street about 8.30pm on September 11 after responding to an advertisement for the iPad.

The man allegedly asked to inspect the device before attempting to snatch it from the seller’s hands. The attempt was unsuccessful and he fled on foot.

The man is described as African in appearance, with a slim build.

Anyone who recognises the man or has information about the incident is urged to contact police via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
