A man allegedly chased a group of youths with an axe during a disturbance in Phillip last week.

Police say the incident occurred at Eddison Park, near the skatepark, late on Thursday afternoon, where a man was seen brandishing an axe and chasing a group of youths. It is further alleged the group had earlier brandished a knife at two other young people before the man became involved.

A 45-year-old man has since been charged in relation to the incident, with investigations continuing to identify the youths allegedly involved with the knife.

Police say there were multiple witnesses in the area at the time, including passing motorists, and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward.
