A 25-year-old Googong man was allegedly caught drug driving twice on Sunday.
Police say they stopped a vehicle travelling on Majura Parkway at about 11.30am and subjected the driver to a roadside drug screening test, which returned a positive result.
The man was taken to Gungahlin Police Station, where further testing also returned a positive result to a prescribed drug.
At about 12.30pm, the man was issued with a direction not to drive for 12 hours and was released pending further enquiries.
A short time later, police again saw the man driving on Majura Parkway and directed him to stop. Police attempted to conduct another roadside drug test, however the man refused.
At about 1.40pm, the man was taken into custody and taken to City Police Station, where he later complied with testing and again returned a positive result.
He was arrested.
The man has been charged with two counts of driving with a prescribed drug in oral fluid, two counts of refusing to undergo a screening test, and failing to comply with a police direction not to drive.
