Woman forced into man’s car

A woman and man were travelling along Tharwa Drive in a white Ford Focus on Sunday afternoon when a red Mitsubishi Triton pulled in front of them on Smiths Road.

Police say the Mitsubishi driver, known to the woman, began yelling at her before allegedly stealing the car keys and forcing the woman into his car.

The male passenger called police.

Police located the Mitsubishi and its two occupants in Tharwa later on Sunday evening and arrested the man, charging him with theft and forcible confinement.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the incident or the red Mitsubishi Triton in Tharwa. Call 1800 333000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website
