Drunk driver booked at six times over the limit

A 48-year-old man with a blood alcohol reading six times over the legal alcohol limit was driving a Subaru Outback, mounting gutters and swerving into oncoming lanes, on Isabella Drive on Tuesday afternoon.

He was reported to police by a driver following the Subaru, who removed the keys from the ignition when the car came to a stop on Isabella Drive, Fadden.

Police took the man to Tuggeranong Police Station where he recorded a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.300 – six times over the legal limit.

The 48-year-old was issued an Immediate Suspension Notice, suspending his ACT drivers licence for 90 days. He will also be charged with drink driving.
