There’ll be an even bigger buzz than usual on Halloween Eve at The Hive in Queanbeyan when entertainer Mikelangelo, known for his dark brand of musical entertainment, returns with The Long Lost Fiends.

Mikelangelo, Michael Simic, was named the 2025 Canberra CityNews Artist of the Year and by no coincidence, he is closely connected with Braidwood-based band The Long Lost Friends.

Urging patrons to get their costumes ready for an evening of theatrical flair and dancing, Hive owner Helen Gibson says Mikelangelo has helped create a wonderfully quirky, family-friendly alternative to the larger Halloween festivities around town.

“Our Halloween celebrations began in 2019,” Gibson says. “Seven years later, we’re still celebrating Halloween the Hive way, with live music, creativity, community spirit and just the right amount of mischief.”
