Football fans in Canberra will have a second dedicated venue to watch the Socceroos’ FIFA World Cup campaign, with the ACT Government announcing a new live site in Garema Place.
The outdoor Civic venue will screen Australia’s match against Paraguay at midday on Friday, June 26, and will continue hosting Socceroos matches for the remainder of the tournament.
The new site complements the existing indoor live site at the University of Canberra Refectory.
The Socceroos looked overawed in their 2-0 World Cup loss to the United States, with Harry Kewell and Wayne Rooney among those lamenting the performance.
