Upgraded public pools to open for the season

Manuka swimming pool… $30,000 in upgrades.

Public swimming pools at Dickson and Manuka will open for the swimming season on Saturday.

Over winter, Dickson Pool was given a $925,000 improvement, which features:

  • A new high-efficiency filtration system to improve water clarity and reduce chemical use.
  • Aeration and re-seeding of grounds.
  • Café upgrades including a new ventilation system and a new sandwich preparation bench.

Heritage-listed Manuka Pool, has had $30,000 spent on:

  • Anti-slip flooring in all bathrooms.
  • New baby changing tables in male and female bathrooms.
  • Improved kiosk ventilation.
  • A new coffee machine and deep fryer.
  • The return of the Champions Board after nearly 70 years, restoring a lost piece of Canberra’s swimming history.
