Smashed and crashed: woman seven times over limit

A 39-year-old woman has lost her licence for 90 days after blowing seven times over the legal alcohol limit at the weekend.

Late on Saturday afternoon police responded to reports of a silver Toyota Corolla that had crashed into a concrete barrier in Phillip before continuing along Yamba Drive.

They located the vehicle with damage to the front driver’s side at the woman’s Garran home. The woman underwent a breath analysis test at the City Police Station where she recorded a blood alcohol concentration reading of 0.357 – more than seven times the legal limit.

Her driving licence was immediately suspended for 90 days and she was charged with drink driving. She will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court in May.
