Police searches close in on drug distributors

Police seized about $10,000 in cash, an imitation firearm, two listening devices and suspected stolen property during searches on Tuesday with possible links to the sale and distribution of drugs in the ACT.

After the discovery of explosives, drugs and ammunition in a car on April 13, police searched a hotel in Tuggeranong and two more vehicles linked to the Mazda 2.

During the search, police seized prohibited weapons including a taser, knife, extendable baton and an imitation firearm. About $10,000 in cash, two listening devices and commemorative coins suspected of being stolen property were also found.

No charges have been laid, but police enquiries are ongoing.
