Police search homes after series of shootings

Following a series of four shootings in Canberra in the past week, police searched properties in Belconnen and Watson on Monday.

Police say that on Thursday, a gun was fired inside a Greenway home with minor ricochet injuries to an occupant. On Friday, a pet dog was killed in a home in Downer when a gun was fired multiple times.

On Saturday evening, a man was shot at a residence in Knox Street, Watson, where police determined the property was also shot at several times earlier that week.

Police believe a group of three men are responsible for the four incidents, with the first believed to have occurred around March 25 in Watson.

Police say the incidents are targeted and there is no wider threat to the community. Two other shooting incidents, in Lyneham and Florey, are not thought to be linked to these four incidents.
