Police chase stolen car through Tuggeranong

A 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man have been arrested following a car theft and pursuit in Tuggeranong on Sunday afternoon.

A blue Volvo was allegedly stolen from a home in Crace early on Sunday morning.

By mid-afternoon police spotted the car being driven in an erratic manner in Braddon and initiated a pursuit that took them through multiple Tuggeranong suburbs before the Volvo was found abandoned in Monash.

Witnesses provided a description of the two people who had left the car and police arrested them shortly afterwards.

The man is facing charges of riding/driving a motor vehicle without consent, aggravated dangerous driving, unlicensed driver (licence never held), and two counts of unlawfully trespassing on premises.

Police say further charges may be laid.
