Newborn found at Condor fire station

A newborn baby was found at the South Tuggeranong ACT Fire & Rescue Station in Conder at 7.20 on Thursday morning.

Police are looking for the baby’s mother. The baby was taken to hospital, but has no obvious injuries. It is estimated the baby was born in the last 24 hours.

Police say their sole concern is for the health and welfare of the baby’s mother and they are urging her to go to a hospital, ring an ambulance or contact them.

Anyone who witnessed or has dashcam footage of people or vehicles at or near the fire station overnight and early this morning should contact the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
