Man surrenders after six-hour standoff at Braddon hotel

A 51-year-old man has been arrested and charged with multiple family violence offences following a six-hour negotiated surrender at a Braddon hotel.

Police say that on November 28, an arrest warrant was issued for the man in relation to alleged family violence offending.

On Tuesday, police found the man at a hotel in Braddon, but he refused to leave the premises. AFP specialist negotiators were called and the man surrendered to police about 12.30am to Wednesday.

He is charged with intentional threat to kill, aggravated common assault, two counts of contravening a family violence order, minor theft, aggravated destroy/damage property, aggravated theft and falsely representing himself as a territory public official.
