Man on bail’s alleged busy weekend

A 24-year-old man, who was subject to bail conditions, has been charged following more than a dozen residential burglaries and vehicle break-ins in North Canberra over a single weekend.

Between August 23 and 24, houses and vehicles in O’Connor, Lyneham and Downer were broken into, with multiple items including wallets and bank cards stolen.

On Tuesday, during a search of the man’s Ngunnawal residence in relation to a previous incident involving upskirting and theft, police also recovered four cards that had been stolen in August.

The man, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with offences including four counts of unlawful possession of stolen property and two counts of obtaining property by deception.
