Man in hospital after colliding with fleeing speedster

A 22-year-old woman, speeding on Sulwood Drive, Kambah, ignored police directions to stop and caused a collision that involved a man being taken to hospital.

Police say they detected the black Hyundai i30 travelling at 99km/h in an 80km/h zone and directed the driver to stop on Wednesday afternoon

She drove on and short time later was involved in a collision with a maroon Nissan X-Trail on Summerland Circuit.

The two female occupants of the Hyundai fled and the driver of the Nissan was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

Police found the women hiding in front yards of residences on Gallagher Street and Bellingham Crescent.

The 22-year-old driver – who was on bail for other offences – was arrested and charged with offences including failing to stop for police, not stop and give assistance, aggravated reckless driving, and negligent driving.
