Man charged with assaulting wife and child

A 37-year-old Greenway man has been charged with family violence offences after allegedly assaulting his wife and child on Monday night.

Police allege that while assaulting his wife, their daughter intervened and the man physically turned on the child threatening to strangle and kill her. The wife intervened and the man continued to assault her.

Police were called and the man was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated common assault, two counts of aggravated reckless threats to kill a person, one count of aggravated reckless threat to inflict grievous bodily harm, two counts of aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of choking, suffocating, strangling another person.
