Hackett man charged with uploading child-abuse material

In August, police say, they received reports about child-abuse material being uploaded to an online app. On Thursday they searched a house in Hackett and arrested a 22-year-old man.

A mobile phone allegedly containing child-abuse material was seized during the search.

The man, who was subject to an intensive corrections order, has been charged with two counts of using a carriage service for child-abuse material.

Police say the phone will be examined forensically and additional charges may follow.
