Following recent shootings in the ACT, investigations led police to search a vacant home in Holder where they found a cache of 21 firearms, two of which were unregistered.
Police seized all 21 guns along with a suppressor and about 10,000 rounds of various ammunition types on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say a detonation cord was also found. It was taken by the AFP Bomb Response Team.
Charges are yet to be laid, however police say their investigation into illicit firearms continues.
They are calling on the community to help identify the location of illicit firearms, particularly those in the hands of criminals.
Police say the threat posed by criminals who possess, carry or use firearms is a considerable risk to the community.
