Disqualified driver makes a run for it after crash

A 31-year-old, drugged, drunk, disqualified driver, in an unregistered vehicle with number plates from another car, was arrested after he fled from a collision with another vehicle in Symonston on Thursday night.

Police say the Narrabundah man pulled over to the side of the road after hitting the rear of another vehicle on the Monaro Highway and ran off without providing his details to the other driver.

He was later found hiding behind a hotel on Jerrabomberra Avenue and was given breath and drug screening tests. Both returned a positive result.

He was arrested and charged with driving while disqualified, using an unregistered vehicle, number plates issued for another vehicle and crashing without giving particulars to other driver.
