Bonython man charged with threatening politician

A 43-year-old Bonython man is facing court charged with making a threat against a federal parliamentarian.

Police will allege the man left a threatening voicemail on the office phone of a federal senator in early October.

The incident was reported to the AFP and referred to ACT police, who linked the 43-year-old man to the call.

On Wednesday night police searched the man’s home and seized a mobile phone.

He has been charged with using a carriage service to menace/harass/offend.
