Assault charges: woman and two men in separate incidents

Three people – a woman and two men – were arrested and charged on Friday with assault following separate incidents across Canberra.

About midday on Thursday, a 32-year-old woman allegedly spat on another woman’s face following an attempt to enter the woman’s vehicle. Police arrested the woman at her home Gungahlin. She has been charged with common assault and unauthorised entry of a motor vehicle.

In another incident, a 52-year-old man was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm after allegedly punching and pinning a man unknown to him against a wall at O’Connor shops on Friday morning.

Also, yesterday morning in Conder, a 60-year-old man allegedly kicked his neighbour in the head. He has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The two men and the woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Saturday, 17 May 2025).
