Two drivers are dead following a two-vehicle crash on the South Coast on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the Kings Highway near Old Bolaro Road at Nelligen, about 15km north-west of Batemans Bay, shortly after 1.30pm.

Police arrived to find two vehicles had collided. Both drivers died at the scene and are yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene has been established and police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Kings Highway was closed in both directions.
